The slimline Smith’s SS80 plinth heater is a high quality heating solution for your kitchen, and is one of the few plinth heaters that fits Ikea style 80mm plinth heights.  Using the space under your kitchen cupboards instead of taking up valuable wall space, it frees up space enabling you to maximise your kitchen work area.  Connecting directly to the central heating system and fitting tidily in the plinth space under a unit or cupboard, heat is blown through a heat exchanger into the room using a low-noise 2 speed fan.  Being connected to your central heating system makes this model much cheaper to run than an electric-only heater, and it switches on an off automatically with your heating system.

How it works

The plinth heater is very easy to install and use.  The temperature switch inside the unit detects when your central heating system is running and water in the pipework is heating up, switching on the fan automatically.  When the heating system switches off and the water cools down, the fan stops running.  There’s no need to turn the unit on and off manually, however there is a boost function to push more heat into the room and a manual override switch to disable the fan if you don’t require it.
